Walnuts
-
Dargo is well known for its walnuts which can be purchased in the food & wine outlets. At the turn of the century we had the largest walnut tree covering quarter of an acre.  The annual Walnut Festival is held on Easter Sunday at the Community Hall and Recreation Reserve.
Myrtle Scott's Cottage - Local Folk Art and country crafts, walnuts and fresh local produce

Historical Areas - Talbotville, Crooked River, Grant, Dargo High Plains, Upper Dargo, Waterford.  Gold mines and shafts are located in the Grant Historical area.
Cemeteries -
Dargo Cemetery dates back to the 1860s; a copy of burial records may be read at Myrtle Scotts Cottage. Historic cemeteries are also located at Grant and Talbotville.
Wonnangatta Station
- This historic station site may only be reached by 4WD. Closed from early June to 31st October weather permitting. Enquiries DNRE (03) 5140 1243.
Pinnacles - May be accessed from Valencia Creek (2WD vehicle to viewing platform only) and Dargo (4WD access only). Offering spectacular mountain views.

2WD Tracks - Places such as Grant, Talbotville, Dogs Grave, Dargo High Plains, Crooked River, Upper Dargo
4WD Tracks - Several excellent tracks abound in the area, including Billy Goat, Collingwood Spur, Bull Town Spur, Mount Blue Rag; good maps are essential
Trail Bikes -

Mountain Bike Rides - Bush Walking - Tracks easily accessible are few at present, but well worth the effort to locate and to enjoy the walk to various historical places they will lead you to. Information sheet now available at all accommodation, food & wine outlets.

Fishing -
Fish for trout, using bait and lures or try tickling in Wonnangatta, Wongungarra, Crooked and Dargo Rivers, or in Black Snake, 25 Mile and 30 Mile Creeks.
Gold Panning & Fossicking
- Gold was first discovered in the Dargo/Grant area in the early 1860's. Nowadays panning and fossicking is done in the rivers and streams in surrounding hills. You will require a licence.
Camping
- Sites available at both caravan parks or on the banks of local rivers, where DNRE have provided BBQ plates, toilets, tables and bench seats. Information available at food & wine outlets.
