Further Education & Vocational Training
    
I
n programs tailored to each individual's needs, participants experience a range of activities aimed at promoting their physical health and general well being.


    
As well as life skills training and communication exercises, people participate in such things as music therapy, art, craft and woodwork, sensory and self advocacy programs.

     Experience in the use of computers is available and where appropriate participants may be offered supported employment with the café or gardening service.
 


Social and Community Inclusion
    
Participants are encouraged to lead a full and active life, interacting with the community at large with a degree of independence appropriate to their capacities.
 
     The wide and regularly varying range of activities includes:
  • attending adult community education classes
  • participating in volunteer activities
  • interacting with other community members
  • drama
  • indoor soccer
  • swimming
  • camping and day trips





Supported Employment
     Supported employees have the opportunity to acquire and maintain work skills in real life environments in the Foster Place Café and the Garden Service.
 

Foster Place Cafe

     The café is sited within a most beautiful garden setting with an enclosed children’s playground, an outdoor eating area, a gallery and a conference room with spectacular garden views.
     The indoor eating areas are air conditioned or heated according to season.
     Light meals at lunch time, morning and afternoon teas are available with home made cakes a specialty. Meetings or functions in the gallery/function room may be catered for.
    



The Garden Service
      Operates throughout the Wellington Shire and includes lawn mowing, pruning, landscaping, planting, rubbish removal and general cleaning up and maintenance. They also undertake regular activities on a contract basis.

 


 
    Employment opportunities are also offered through the garden services.
