What you can do:
- You can attend the monthly business meetings,
where practical matters, administration and matters arising from correspondence
are discussed, planned and dealt with (it is not necessary to be an executive
member); these are held in the Maffra Sugar Beet Museum, River Street, Maffra on
the second Monday of
each month except January, at 7.30pm
- You can attend the occasional Tuesday
afternoon sessions when there is a guest speaker - dates are published in
the newsletter
; these are held in the Maffra Beet Museum, River
Street, commencing at 1.30pm; afternoon tea is provided after the activity
- You can participate in the
regular research and archive access sessions held every Monday afternoon in the
Maffra Library from 1.00pm; this is a perfect opportunity to continue your own
family history research
- You can use the Museum's archives held at the Maffra Library during normal library opening hours
- You
can attend our Annual Luncheon, held usually in early September
- You can assist
in the running of the Museum or at the occasional working bee (volunteer
insurance provided for members)
- You can join
us on our excursions
- You can share with others
your local knowledge
- You can receive a
thrice-yearly newsletter (to which you may wish to contribute);

Specific benefits of membership
The regular
newsletter is made available free to anyone interested; attendance at Society
activities such as the Tuesday talks is also open to the general public.
However there are a number of specific benefits of actual Membership:
- all financial members are
covered for personal accident insurance while participating in Society
activities
- all financial members
receive a 10% discount on all Society charges
- financial members have
priority in activities where there is an attendance limit

The Bulletin & Newsletter
The
Society's Bulletin has been replaced by a thrice-yearly newsletter. However, all 120
