Strip Map Tour from Traralgon to Glenmaggie and Coongulla
 
     Turn off Highway 1 onto C105 passing through Glengarry, Toongabbie and Cowwarr across rich grazing flats to Heyfield; undulating road through farmland and open eucalypt bushland to Lake Glenmaggie; winding, narrow road past Weir Wall to Coongulla.
 
     To follow this map RESET you trip meter at Traralgon and proceed to Heyfield. Take a break at Heyfield, RESET your trip meter and continue to Glenmaggie or Coongulla.


Heyfield to Glenmaggie & Coongulla
  • Heyfield - timber town situated on the Thomson River; wetlands park; adventure playground, BBQs, toilet facilities; hotel, motel, CP
  • Glenmaggie - small settlement at head of Lake; speed boat racing; water sports; CPs
  • Lake Glenmaggie - irrigation weir on Macalister River; water sports, fishing; boat ramps; CPs
  • Glenmaggie Weir Wall - picnic & toilet facilities, playground; information display
  • Coongulla (continue past Weir Wall entrance and follow signs) - residential area with limited facilities; access to water sports; boat ramp

Traralgon to Heyfield
  • Traralgon - A commercial centre servicing the power and paper manufacturing industries in the Latrobe Valley; off-highway travellers' rest facilities within the town, food, toilets; historic buildings; hotels; motel; caravan park
  • Glengarry - small shops and hotel
  • Toongabbie - store, fuel and historic mechanics hall; golf club
  • Cowwarr - small historic service centre; hotel; art gallery; Cowwarr Weir picnic spot nearby
