TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS
    of the former Maffra Community Resource Centre

    We have been dedicated to "bringing technology to the community" through our education and training programs, through raising awareness, through the encouragement of the application of technology in local businesses and through support and involvement in regional enterprises.  The following is a list of the activities we participated in until our closure.

    ACFE NLT Project

    #1 Management of a project to develop and trial Internet networking of specified sub-regional adult education providers throughout Gippsland

    Regional and Rural Strategy - Gippsland: Networking

    #1 Comprehensive report prepared for the Network Action Group detailing current activities in Gippsland relevant to the data and user/network facets of the networking model used by the RRS forum

    Gippsland Telecentre Network

    Department of Primary Industry and Energy funded project to provide information technology awareness raising and applications in remote and rural communities auspiced by the Maffra Telecentre
     

    Gippsland Community Network

    Administration manager of the Multi-Media Victoria Skills.net project providing access and domain name presence for Gippsland community centres.

    Wellington Gippsland Tourism Promotions Board

    Maffra Telecentre has designed a community based tourism promotions scheme for the Shire of Wellington based on locally prepared Internet pages to be maintained by community groups within the shire
     

    Alpine Walking Track Forum

    Co-ordination of an electronic network forum to develop a strategy plan for eco-tourism in the Australian Alps
     

    Gippsland Touring Stripmaps

    In conjunction with local tourism industry an online system has been developed to service potential visitors to the region. Detailed stripmaps can be created and printed from a series of start locations to attractions and destinations in the region.
