The museum is open from 10am to 2pm on the first Sunday of the month from February to December. Admission is $2.50 per adult.
The Museum, the former weighbridge and office of the factory, features the story of the growth of sugar beet, our agricultural history and the Maffra area in general. Local history books are for sale at the Museum or at the Book Shoppe, Johnson Street, Maffra (Tuesday to Saturday).
Group bookings can be made for openings outside these hours, where an opening fee applies.
The Society’s collection covers all of the former Maffra Shire (including Heyfield, Glenmaggie, Tinamba, Newry, Boisdale, Briagolong and Bundalaguah).
We also operate a facebook page and pages for Briagolong (Briagolong History), and there are pages also for Heyfield and Boisdale.
The Society can carry out family history and other research. Enquiries should be directed to maffrahistory@outlook.com A research fee usually applies for research.
